Tughlaqs of Gujarat banned Mobile internet a week ago on Aug 25. They then banned Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and even You Tube from being accessed from homes.
The excuse the ISPs were sending through SMSes for banning the above features was as follows:
“Dear Customer, Kindly note that as per the directives of Gujarat Government access to WhatsApp, Facebook, Youtube &Twitter will be unavailable in Gujarat until further instructions from Home Department. We regret any inconvenience caused. YOU Broadband.”
When I demanded to know when it will be restarted AND THE MEANINGLESS BAN LIFTED I was told from Sept 3 midnight. However today evening the services were restarted.
There is no meaning in banning anything. CAN THE PROBLEM OF PATIDAR’S JUSTIFIED ANGER AGAINST QUOTA PROSTITUTION GO AWAY SIMPLY BY SWITCHING OFF THESE SERVICES?
PATIDARS ARE PERFECTLY RIGHT IN SAYING THAT WHOSOEVER IS POOR AND UNDERPRIVILEGED NEED RESERVATIONS WHATEVER THEIR CASTE MAY BE.
THOSE WHO PIMP QUOTAS MUST KNOW THAT ALL INDIANS HAVE EQUAL RIGHT to fair play and decency. POOR irrespective of caste ARE HARIJANS. Poverty is evil and caste is as personal as religion and the state has nothing to do with it.
SO HARIJAN BY NEED IS WHAT COUNTS. The way forward is to treat poor as poor not rich because he or she belongs to upper caste.
Rich is rich and not poor because he carries a certificate of backwardness.
NO ONE IS HARIJAN BY BIRTH IF HE IS RICH ENOUGH TO SIT AS A MINISTER OR A MLA OR A MP or drives a car or put simply is rich enough to be called rich.
